Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Prepare your baking dish by lining an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, stirring gently to avoid browning.
Once the butter is melted, add the creamy peanut butter to the saucepan and stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and continue stirring until the mixture is fully blended, creating a creamy base.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the sifted powdered sugar a little at a time, stirring well after each addition.
Add the vanilla extract and mix until everything is well incorporated and the texture is creamy.
If adding chocolate chips, fold them in at this stage, reserving a few for sprinkling on top later.
Transfer the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
If desired, sprinkle the chopped peanuts and reserved chocolate chips over the top of the fudge.
Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours or until completely set.
Once set, lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares or rectangles.
